Marc Wood - Director
Marc was born in Colchester and is the youngest of the three directors. He started his career as an estate agent in Braintree with Taylors Countrywide in 2006 and has remained working in the town ever since. Having started as a trainee, Marc successfully worked his way up to Branch Manager with the largest estate agency group in the UK. He was also one of the highest achievers in the eastern region in both 2010 and 2011. His decision to co-found Taylor Milburn was based on a firm belief that the personal touch between customers and estate agents was being eroded by corporate groups and his aim is to bring this relationship back into daily practice. In his spare time, Marc enjoys socialising, utilising his gym membership, watching and playing football and being a lifelong Aston Villa supporter, he has developed a good sense of humour.
Tom Uden - Senior Negotiator
Tom moved to the local area back in 2005 and now currently lives in Halstead. Having started his career working for Countrywide in Braintree, he then moved to their Tiptree branch and quickly worked his way up to Assistant Manager. He then furthered his career by joining one of Essex's fastest growing independent agents, working there for 3 years and dealt with agreeing sales, carrying out valuations and progressing sales to an exchange of contracts. In November 2014 Tom had the opportunity to join Taylor Milburn, and he was more than happy to take up the chance. In his spare time he enjoys walking his dog, watching Manchester United play football and spending time with his girlfriend.
Jamie Fisher - Director
Jamie has worked within estate agency since the age of 18. He started his career at Taylor & Co estate agents in Colchester and has picked up an extensive knowledge of the housing market working for the largest estate agency group in the UK, at branches in Colchester, Maldon, Braintree and Chelmsford where he was assistant Branch Manager for two years and first met Paul Kilkelly in 2006. In 2008 he was appointed Branch Manager of Taylor’s Countrywide (now Abbotts) in Braintree. It was here he met Marc Wood and in 2009 was reunited with Paul. It was a three man team in 2010 that saw a record breaking year for trade at the Braintree branch. Jamie grew up and went to school in Halstead and Earls Colne and now lives off London Road, Braintree with his wife Vikki. In his spare time Jamie enjoys watching his favourite team Liverpool FC and trying to play golf.
Chris Claridge - Residential Sales
Chris joined Taylor Milburn in January 2014 as our first Apprentice, via the Mary Portas Scheme and Braintree District Council. Chris lives locally in Wethersfield and is looking to build a career in estate agency. He is currently responsible for office administration and canvassing campaigns. Chris has already proved himself as having huge potential to be an estate agent. He is enthusiastic and a dynamic member of the team, selling his first house in the third week of his new career. In his spare time Chris enjoys watching his favourite team Tottenham Hotspur FC and keeping fit.
Melanie Verdejo - Office & Accounts Manager
Melanie is born and bred in Braintree, attending schools locally which have given her a great knowledge of the area. Melanie started her working life with Halifax Building Society (now Halifax PLC) at the age of 16. Having started a family Melanie left the Halifax and worked for BUPA dealing with general secretarial duties and quality assurance ISO2000. Melanie has 4 children and chose to leave BUPA to become a full time child minder and to study book keeping, helping many self-employed workers with organisation of their accounts.
When Taylor Milburn opened in April 2012 Melanie offered to work voluntarily to improve her CV. Melanie now works full time managing all office administration, events organisation, payroll, employment and accounts.
